Energy efficiency through relaxation and injury prevention through proper alignment are ChiRunning's main theme. This is accomplished by learning how to run properly and conserve energy. Things that come into play include core muscles use, proper body alignment, forward lean, ankle lift, arm swing, stride length, pelvic rotation and cadence. These were taught and demonstrated by Lit Onrubia who is the only ChiRunning Instructor in the country. Cebuanos, like Abby Ponce and Kenneth Casquejo, were so eager to learn ChiRunning and were fulfilled after the workshop. They will be (CHI)running together with Lit during the CitiRun race this Sunday.

ReplyDeleteHi Doc Raymond. Thanks for attending the workshop and for documenting our first ever class! It was a pleasure meeting you and my new found friends. I had a wonderful time with the group and hope that they took away several positives from the session. I look forward to future ChiRunning workshops in Cebu!

Thanks for taking these beautiful pictures!
...And Abby sort of mentor me on my posture. LOL...Did a 14k run just this Saturday after the ChiRunning workshop partly due to Abby's passion and determination for running & learning ChiRunning technique. :-)
Thanks for spreading the news so that others here in Cebu can run longer with more energy and avoid possible injury. And also thanks Lit for bringing this technique to Cebu!
By the way, Raymund congratulations on your many successful, accomplished runs! :-)
